Straighten Your Smile Discreetly with Invisalign
You deserve a smile you feel confident sharing with the world! At Hope Dental Professionals, we understand that traditional braces aren’t always the most appealing option.
That’s why we’re excited to offer Invisalign clear aligners—a comfortable and discreet alternative to traditional braces.
What Can Invisalign Fix?
Invisalign is designed to address many of the same issues as traditional metal braces, but with a more comfortable and discreet approach in mind. Here are a few examples of what Invisalign can improve:
- Overcrowding: When your teeth don’t have enough space, they can overlap and become difficult to clean, creating more hard-to-reach places and sometimes, even cause discomfort when chewing. Invisalign gently guides your teeth into their proper positions one aligner at a time, creating a healthier and more beautiful smile.
- Crossbite: A crossbite is when your upper teeth bite down on the inside of your lower teeth, causing uneven wear and even some jaw problems. Invisalign can help to correct your bite, improving both the appearance and function of your smile in one go!
- Overbite: An overbite is when your upper teeth protrude further than your lower teeth, which can cause jaw pain and TMJ disorder. Invisalign can help realign your bite, reducing discomfort and improving your overall oral health.
- Underbite: An underbite is the exact opposite of an overbite, where your lower teeth protrude further than your upper teeth. This can also cause jaw pain and TMJ disorder if left untreated for too long, causing headaches, pain, and discomfort. Invisalign can correct an underbite and creating a more balanced and harmonious smile.
- Gaps: Gaps between teeth can occur due to missing teeth or abnormal jaw growth. Invisalign can close these gaps, giving you a more uniform and attractive smile.
Why Choose Invisalign?
Invisalign is a different approach to straightening teeth that is not only more comfortable, but also more convenient, too. Made from a tough, clear resin, they’re a strong and discreet alternative to traditional metal braces. Here’s why you might prefer Invisalign:
- Virtually Invisible: The clear aligners are nearly invisible, so you can straighten your teeth without feeling self-conscious.
- Removable: You can remove your aligners for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing, making it easier to maintain good oral hygiene.
- Comfortable: The smooth plastic aligners are more comfortable than traditional braces, with no metal brackets or wires to irritate your mouth.
- Custom-Made: Your aligners are custom-made from the ground up to fit your teeth precisely, ensuring a comfortable and effective treatment from day one.
Your Invisalign Journey with Dr. Pate
Dr. Pate and our friendly team here at Hope Dental Professionals will create a personalized Invisalign treatment plan just for you. We can’t wait to meet you, and once you do, here’s what you can expect:
- Consultation: We’ll take a few photos, digital scans, and X-rays of your teeth and jaw to create a 3D model of your smile. This allows Dr. Pate to map out your treatment plan from start to finish, and show you how your smile will transform with Invisalign before you’ve even started.
- Custom Aligners: Your custom aligners will be created using 3D imaging technology. This process usually takes a few weeks.
- Regular Checkups: You’ll visit us at Hope Dental Professionals every 4-6 weeks or so, where Dr. Pate can monitor your progress and provide you with your next set of aligners for your journey.
- A Straighter Smile: With consistent wear, your teeth will gradually shift into their desired positions, revealing a beautiful, confident smile.
Caring for Your Invisalign Aligners
To get the best results from your Invisalign treatment and experience results you can’t wait to show off, it’s important to follow a few simple guidelines to keep you on the right track:
We recommend aiming to wear your aligners for 22 hours a day, taking them out only when you’re eating your favorite meals and drinking beverages. The more you wear them, the more they accomplish in gently shifting your teeth into position. Brushing and flossing is another exception where you’d take them out, as well as a good rinse with mouthwash to keep your smile fresh.
We know this sounds strict, but we’re confident with an aligner this perfectly matched to your smile, you’ll feel comfortable in no time. To keep your aligners clean and fresh, brush them with a toothbrush and water twice a day, typically when brushing your teeth. No special steps or products required! Avoid using hot water to clean them as this can warp the plastic and compromise the perfect fit you’ve gotten used to.
As we mentioned before, they’re very quick to get used to. That said, you might experience some mild soreness when you first start wearing a new set of aligners, but this is completely normal and should fade away within a few hours to a few days. Just be patient and consistent with your treatment, and you’ll be on your way to a straighter, more confident smile! If you feel any persistent discomfort after a few days, give us a call and we’d be happy to take a closer look!
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How long does Invisalign treatment take?
A: The length of treatment varies depending on the complexity of your case and how consistently you wear your aligners. On average, treatment takes about 12-18 months.
Q: Does Invisalign hurt?
A: Invisalign is generally more comfortable than traditional braces. You may experience some mild discomfort when you first start wearing a new set of aligners, but this usually subsides within a few days. There’s also no metal anywhere to be found, meaning no wax to dull sharp edges or more frequent visits for checkups.
Q: Will Invisalign affect my speech?
A: You may experience a slight lisp for the first few days of treatment, but this usually disappears quickly as you adjust to wearing the aligners.
